The Hot Rod 100--Ultra DMA IDE Controller Card is the latest from ABIT that gives 2 extra channels of UDMA/ATA/ 33, 66 or 100 for your system.
The controller is the HPT370 Ultra DMA IDE Controller from High Point and it uses the local PCI bus.
The Hot Rod 100 gives your system Ultra DMA 66 or 100 MB/sec data transfer rate with future support for Ultra ATA specifications.
The cards provides two independent ATA channels at 256 Byte FIFO per ATA channel with concurrent PIO and bus master access and compliant with Plug & Play with up to 4 IDE devices supported.

The Hot Rod 100 card can be used with any FX, LX, EX, ZX, BX and Intel 820 chipset board.
With the help of the ABIT Hot Rod 100, your mainboard can support this specification at its intended 66 or 100 Mbytes/sec of data throughput. The result is maximum disc performance using the current PCI local bus environment.

Ultra ATA/66 and ATA/100 hard drives are 100 percent backward compatible with both Ultra ATA/33 and DMA and with existing ATA (IDE) hard drives, CD-ROM drives, and host systems and the Ultra ATA/66 protocol and commands are designed to be compatible with existing ATA (IDE) devices and systems. And with ABIT’s Hot Rod 100, you get automatic recognition and compatibility for any combination of UDMA/100, UDMA/66, UDMA/33, EIDE, or ATAPI devices.
